A live hat bar, or patch bar if that's the name you know, is a wall of caps, a tray of patch designs made for your event, one heat press and a printer. Each guest chooses the cap and the patch, and the printer presses it on while they watch. The caps can be trucker or dad-hat style, from whichever blanks you choose. In Pittsburgh it fits places a screen press can't go: an arena suite, a Lawrenceville studio, a narrow bar on the South Side.
What a Pittsburgh hat bar includes
- Caps in several styles and colors, black and gold among them if you want.
- Patches made to your brief at the shop before the freight goes.
- A heat press and a printer who keeps the table moving.
- A styled, photo-ready setup that looks right from a Downtown & Convention Center ballroom to an Oakland reception.
It sets up small and quiet, which makes it an easy second station next to a screen press.
Before you book the hat bar
Is it the felt-hat kind, with bands and feathers?
No. We don't do felt hats, hatbands, feathers or burned designs. It's caps and patches, pressed with heat. If trimmed felt hats are what your guests expect, a western hat bar is the right call for that part of the night.
Can the caps and patches be black and gold?
Yes. The caps come in several styles and colors, black and gold among them, and the patches are made to your brief at our shop before the freight goes. That means the art has to be settled before the kit leaves Fullerton.
Do you have a shop in Pittsburgh?
No. We're based in Fullerton, California, and there's no Pittsburgh storefront to walk into. The hat bar travels by freight with the rest of the kit, and the crew arrives a day before load-in to set it up in your suite, loft or reception room.
